Winemaker’s Notes
The color is deep dark red, tending towards magenta at the meniscus. Lovely notes of warmed currants, cocoa dust, lavender, scorched earth and bay leaf. Lovely energy and density across the palate. The flavors mirror the aromas with everything in proportion with lovely balance. Tannins emerge through the mid-palate with great density, breadth and flow, pulling everything to a lovely long finish. Notes of cedar and graphite emerge through the finish. –

Australian Wine Companion – “Deep, dense crimson-purple; flooded with the swirls of cassis and dark chocolate/choc-mint flavours of McLaren Vale, alcohol no problem; oak and tannins are largely observers of what is going on around them.”
WS91
Wine Spectator – “Firm in texture, this savory style wraps a moderate grip of tannins around orange peel – accented black fruit and tar flavors, coming together on the focused, expressive and seductive finish. Drink now through 2020.”
