Tasting Note:
The 2000 Barolo Cerequio is one of my all-time favorite wines from Roberto Voerzio. Sadly I haven_t had the discipline to keep my hands off the bottles but I am not the least bit sorry because they have all been breathtaking. The 2000 Cerequio blossoms on the palate with a burst of small red berries followed by sweet spices freshly cut roses mint and eucalyptus. It possesses gorgeous inner perfume and the silkiest of tannins. The 2000 remains remarkably fresh with just the faintest signs of early tertiary development. This is for me the reference-point wine from the Cerequio vineyard. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030. Source: Wine Advocate
